Cracking Fight Announcement: Ahady vs Wilson Prins at Cage Warriors 172

Cage Warriors today announced that Milad Ahady will fight Orlando Wilson Prins in the Featherweight division on Cage Warriors 172 at Newcastle on 25 May 2024.

Orlando Wilson Prins

Orlando Wilson Prins is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist from the Netherlands.

He has a professional MMA record of 5-2-0. He has recorded one win by TKO, three by submission (two by rear naked choke and one by armbar) and one by decision. His two losses both came by decision.

Prins entered Cage Warriors as an unbeaten fighter in 2022, He lost his first two fights to Tom Mearns and Samuel Bark. Despite the bad start, he turned things around and won his next two fights against Antonio Sheldon and Bailey Gilbert.

He was particularly impressive in his last fight, scoring a first round stoppage victory against Gilbert. Prins spent most the round dominating on the ground before connecting with mutiple punches, leading to the referee stopping the fight.

Milad Ahady

Milad Ahady is originally from Afghanistan, but now fights out of South Shields, which is close to Newcastle.

He is a good all-rounder, comfortable both on his feet and on the ground. Prins will not find it as easy to dominate Ahady with his grappling as he has done with previous opponents.

Ahady has a professional MMA record of 7-1-0. Of his seven wins, one was by TKO, one by submission (rear naked choke) and five by decision. His one loss was by first round KO/TKO in Bellator in 2019.

He is currently on a five-fight win streak. Since entering Cage Warriors in 2022, Ahady has won all four of his fights and has looked impressive doing so.

This is a great match-up and promises to be a really interesting fight. Both fighters are on the up and will look to extend their winning runs. Both will also know that a victory will boost their chances of a title shot.
